Trip to Bandhavgarh, Chhatisgarh and Prominent places around Bhopal

During summer of 2012 we decided to visit places around Bhopal while we were there. Following were the places that we visited.

We visited several prominent places around Bhopal in April-2012.
Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalay
Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalay is a life size museum which collects the housing and equipments used by different tribes etc. in India.

Trip to Chhatisgarh

We reached Raipur by train from Umaria after our Bandhavgarh safaris. We decided to pay a visit to places around Jagdalpur.

We reached Jagdalpur and stayed in Naman Baster resort. It is an average resort on Chitrakote Road. The first order of the day was to visit Chitrakote resort. These were pre-monsoon summer months and the Chitrakote falls was down to a trickle.

21-April-2012

The first place that we visited was Kanger National Park. The park is famous for extensive outcrops of weathered Stromatolytic dolomite and limestones. The cave was discovered in 1900 by tribals from the region. It was discovered in 1951 by famous geograoher Dr. Shankar Tiwari. This cave is 330 meters wide and 40 meters deep.
